Post-war Vincents bristled with innovative features and were finished to a remarkably high standard, resulting in a showroom price that was virtually double that of its contemporaries, however it was the fabulous performance on offer from the powerful 998cc V-Twin that became legendary and is still talked about with reverence today
With a top speed of over 100mph, the Vincent V-twin was the fastest vehicle on the road in period
1949 was the changeover year from HRD to Vincent and the phasing out of Brampton girder forks
This, Series B Rapide, is presented is very good overall condition and in good running order
According to the Vincent HRD factory records, the bike was dispatched on 6th December to Cimic, Buenos Aires in Argentina
40 years later it was repatriated via Germany back to the UK in 1990
No rear frame number visible and fitted with a 1949 Series B Rapide engine
Restored at the time but never used and then passed between three Vincent enthusiast owners before being purchased by our vendor in 2019
Subject then to a comprehensive restoration between 2019 and 2022 by the VOC Spares Co Ltd and marque-specialist Ben Kingham
Fitted with period-correct 5" speedo and Brampton forks
