1972 Triumph TR6 in Sapphire blue
Era classics are pleased to offer for sale this matching numbers TR6 that was professionally converted to RHD circa 1989 by specialists Triumph services of Templecombe who did numerous conversions during that period. This original dry state USA car is a rock solid example that’s been in the same ownership for the last 30 years and has always been dry stored and maintained.
Delivered on 09/ 12/ 1972 to supplying dealer Precision Motors, Dallas, Texas, USA where it remained until being acquired by its first UK owner and first registered 13/ 12/ 1989. VIN CC81639, Engine CC81723.

Lots of recent service work completed ready for sale including, new £700 stainless Powerflow exhaust, freshly powder coated Minator minilite wheels, new brake drums, pads and shoes, Steering rack boots and track rod ends, oil and filter change, overdrive and rear diff seals and oils. Engine tune/ carb balancing all set up, Fresh waxoyl.
Other points of note include new clutch and aluminium radiator a couple of thousand miles ago (Revingtons). Samco silicon hoses and S/ S braided brake hoses. Kenlowe fan, electronic ignition, poly bushes, oil cooler.
Interior is generally in decent condition, front drivers seat has some splits in seams but overall door cards, dash, carpet etc are all very tidy. Mota-lita aluminium/ wood steering wheel. Original radio cassette, although cassette not working. Original hood, although faded still fits snug with no rips and rear and side screens are relatively clear to view through.
From inspection, and being a dry state, garaged car, all floors, boot, inner wings, cills and chassis all remain in great overall condition. There are minor sings of micro blistering in some isolated areas across the original bodywork where its had some paint in places over the years. All of the panels are straight and dent free and it presents in decent order all round and is not full of filler.
Paint is showing its age and patina but is very presentable and a decent depth of shine. It remains a solid example that has had regular waxoyl treatment with minimal exposure to corrosion.
The car drives with decent pace and a delightful exhaust note. Steering is precise and the car sits well on the wider minilite wheels making for a fun sure footed driving experience. All gears engage as they should with the added benefit of overdrive makes for a fun driver quality car with room for improvement.
Only 5 UK owners and includes a large history file full of paperwork both from the USA and all of its life in the UK including its original passport to service booklet and original handbook still in its plastic wallet all documenting regular maintenance work.
Included in the sale is a restored factory hard top in correct Sapphire blue, tonneau and hood covers and a set of the original factory optioned steel wheel set with stainless trims and a box of numerous other spares.
