Description
1989 MERCEDES BENZ 500SL
Nice low mileage
Immaculate condition
Factory A/ C
The prettiest of colour combinations, Diamond Blue Metallic with Beige leather interior she get's so many admiring glances from other road users
Not often seen in these colours on the 500SL she makes a rare sight, and then when you consider she has factory air conditioning, she makes for one of the rarest versions out there
When we say immaculate condition, she really is just that - there is a photograph of when we opened up the soft top. Inside the soft top compartment the last owner had positioned a white towel to protect the rear windscreen for when the top is stowed - a nice touch we haven't seen before, it shows the care he bestowed on her
Also there were polishing cloths in the door pockets, in the glove box and looking through the history folder the previous owner had serviced this car almost more than necessary (if that's actually possible)
He had Greenoaks Mercedes Benz service her 28 times in a period between 25. 000 miles through to 51. 000 miles - so 26. 000 miles covered and 28 services by one Official MB dealership
The 500SL comes with a fresh set of Michelin tyres (including a brand new spare tyre), modern Blaupunkt Bremen SQR radio / media player, although it looks as though it's from 1989, beige leather effect wind deflector, electric aerial, MB mud flaps, stainless steel exhaust, head lamp wash/ wipe, cruise control (std on 500SL), MB overmats, rear seat base with seat belts, original Medical box still in the boot, wood veneers are unmarked too and the underside is in as immaculate condition as is the rest of the motorcar
I haven't yet mentioned the soft top, which looks like it could be a replacement, but I feel it's original as the condition is so good - there is a tiny nick in the vinyl rear quarter window to the passenger side, although when we washed the car there was no water ingress apparent
Of course, the Hard Top, is in the same condition as the rest of the car - just superb - and as you see from the photographs of the wheel arches, boot area and the engine bay, all else is superb as well
The last owner bought her from our friends at the SL Shop, who again felt this car is well above the normal condition for cars of this age and low mileage and whilst with them and prior to his collection her asked the SL Shop to completely check over the underside and then apply and new coating of underseal - as shown on some pictures above the description
She starts on the button and gives that awesome deep burble at idle and through the rev range, especially when the roof is down
A sweet version of these well loved classic
