The Honda GL1000 Goldwing is a classic motorcycle that has left an indelible mark on the touring bike market. Introduced in the mid-1970s, specifically in 1975, the GL1000 was Honda's answer to the growing demand for long-distance touring motorcycles. The wheelbase was lengthened over that of the GL1000, and air suspension was added. The GL1100 had an adjustable seat, and for the first time used tubeless tyres, mounted on black reverse ComStar wheels. The naked Gold Wing, which would become known as the Standard model, weighed 589 pounds (267 kg) dry. Ridden by Emilio Scotto, the GL1100 is the bike that toured the world. Holding the record for the longest distance of any motorcycle total distance of 457, 000 miles (735, 000 km).
Over the years, the Goldwing lineup has evolved and expanded, incorporating new technologies and features while retaining its reputation for comfort and reliability. Due to its historical significance and enduring popularity among motorcycle enthusiasts, well-maintained examples of the GL1100 have become sought-after collector's items.
This bike was originally sent to Holland when new but due to lack of supply in the UK, it was brought over and registered new here in 1980. It has had only 2 owners but does have a kilometre clock. It comes with full UK V5, 1 key, original owner’s handbook, sales brochure and invoice, it is clear on HPi and is in full running order.
