This Flamenco red B GT is something very special in that it has only covered just shy of an indicated 60, 000 miles from new in the hands of three careful owners.
Built in December 1975 and registered in January 1976 by Offley Brothers in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, it is very refreshing to see such an unspoilt ‘rubber bumper’ example as this. With this being an early rubber bumper model, it features the earlier and correct chrome bumper dash configuration and overdrive on a wand rather than a switch on the gear knob or on the dash.
The paintwork is in good condition overall, as is the interior. There is some minor bubbling on the passenger side door and rear quarter but this doesn’t detract from want is a fine looking example, enhanced with chrome embellishers on the Rostyle wheels.
The glass has been security etched, and the car also features a period popup sunroof, and security locks have been fitted in place of the original lock set. There is also a period Pioneer tape player fitted.
The vendor tells us he has recently spent £500 on recommissioning the car after a period of storage, and it now runs and drives as it should.
We have a couple of invoices for work carried out over the years, the aforementioned Heritage certificate, MG Passport with service stamps, MG handbook, and MOT certificates back to the 80s that backs up the mileage showing.
Overall a very usable example of this popular British classic.
