Description
Sometimes we have such stylish and unique pearls in our collection. This Bentley MK VI is without a doubt such a beautiful pearl. This is not only due to the sublime condition in which this classic saloon is located. This Bentley MK VI, delivered in 1952 with chassis number B184NZ, is one of the last produced copies of this model and is equipped with the 4. 6 liter petrol engine. Only 1201 copies of this last model were built, which makes this Bentley MK VI extra rare. The car came to the Netherlands in 1963 and a large part of the history (including a copy of the Build Sheet) has been preserved with the car. There is an extensive history report available with a documented owners overview.
The car was extensively restored in the period 2006 to 2008 and of course a photo report of this is available. During this restoration, the engine block was also completely and professionally overhauled. However, the last owner has brought this beautiful Bentley MK VI to an even higher quality level. In 2017, various additional restoration works were carried out and the car also received its current two-tone colour combination 'Belco Black' with 'Tudor-Grey'. The golden coachline was also applied over the entire side and the hubcaps. A photo report of this is of course also available. And what is certainly worth mentioning is the fact that the last owner has carefully completed the tool set (in the engine compartment, at the spare wheel and in the dashboard) with original tools. Even the very rare original screwdriver (with bakelite handle) is present.
We have rarely seen such a carefully documented history for such a beautiful car. This Bentley MK VI is truly in very perfect and sublime condition. It is not without reason that this car won first prize in 2019 at the British Automobile Days (category post war classics) in St. Oedenrode. The bodywork is in particularly beautiful condition and both the 'Belco Black' and the 'Tudor Grey' body colours have a beautiful deep shine. Of course, the body parts also fit very well and the doors close solidly and securely. The various chrome and trim parts are also still in very good (mostly perfect) condition. This also applies to the various finishing rubbers and seals.
The interior is in the same beautiful condition. The brown leather upholstery (Brown hide with Brown piping, code VM3199) is really in very good condition. Here too, it can be seen that the car has been professionally restored with as much originality as possible preserved. The seats and back seat are particularly comfortable and you can taste the luxury of the 1950s. All the woodwork (including the folding tables in the seats) is still in very good and perfect condition. Of course, this certainly also applies to the expertly wood-lacquered dashboard. The counters work properly and the indicators also function perfectly.
A look under the bonnet is enough to see that this car has been maintained with great care and love. This can also be seen from the many maintenance invoices present. As already mentioned, the tool kit in the engine compartment is also complete. The engine runs very smoothly and is very quiet and driving this Bentley MK VI is actually a very comfortable way to move. It is not without reason that this car has the name of the best driving MK VI in the Netherlands within the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club and the Bentley Drivers Club. The gearbox shifts very smoothly and softly and the brakes also feel good and firm. We can rightly say that this Bentley MK VI is a true gem in our collection. And that is not only due to the unique and perfect condition of the car, but also due to the very complete documentation that comes with the car.
