Description
The Auburn 8-101 is an iconic American automobile from the early 1930s that combines elegance, innovation, and performance. It was manufactured by the Auburn Automobile Company, which gained a reputation for producing luxury cars for discerning customers. The 8-101 model was equipped with a straight-eight engine, making it a powerful machine for its time, capable of reaching speeds of up to around 130 km/ h (80 mph). The car was distinguished by its refined design, featuring smooth curves and elegant lines, making it one of the most stylish cars of its era. Among its technical highlights were the synchronized transmission on the second and third gears, providing smoother shifting, and features like centralized chassis lubrication. The Auburn 8-101 symbolized prosperity before the onset of the Great Depression and, in many ways, represented the pinnacle of automotive engineering of its time.
The Auburn from 1933 offered here is a truly unique piece. The car was imported in 2022 from Indiana, USA, and comes in an enhanced version with optional extras that include rotating headlights, a radiator cover, and a hood ornament, highlighting its exclusivity. In the Czech Republic, only minor adjustments were made, such as mounting the side mirrors on the edges of the windshield for better visibility. Originally, the mirrors were attached to the spare wheels using brackets, which are still available with the car. The technical heart of this vehicle is a straight-eight engine with a displacement of 4. 3 liters, ensuring smooth and powerful performance, while centralized lubrication provides long-lasting durability for all key components. As mentioned above, shifting is handled by a three-speed manual transmission with freewheeling, synchronized on the second and third gears. Overall, this elegant car is in excellent, well-maintained condition, ready to bring joy to its new owner.
