Here we have for sale another Iconic Japanese 70's Superbike. We are pleased to be able to offer this excellent 1978 Suzuki GS1000 modified example. The bike is supplied with a file bursting with receipts and invoices charting the bikes build as well as two sets of keys. The bike would make a great addition to any collection and a fantastic bike to take out on the road and will benefit from a full service and MOT prior to sale
This 1978 example has been restored including full service including valves, plugs, oil & filters, full carb rebuild, refurbs carried out on the generator, starter motor and rectifiers. It also features numerous custom upgrades including a full MotoGP Werks 4 into 1 exhaust, S type Bikini fairing, Calfab swingarm, renthal bars, ASV levers, EBC discs, Hel brake lines, refurbed callipers, DID gold chain, Tarrozi rearsets, YSS front fork springs, YSS RZ adjustable shocks, fastec fork brace as well as many other refinements.
"The GS1000 was based around the successful GS750, which was the lightest of the 750's available at that time. What Suzuki wanted was a simple design, that benefited from solid engineering and light weight. The GS1000 was only slightly heavier than the 750, which was quite an achievement. The GS1000 had five speeds, chain drive and tubular steel cradle frame like the GS750, but with more advanced suspension using air and oil dampened front fork. The GS1000 was arguably the best one-liter four-cylinder of its time."
