Description
Swift 14/ 40 Touring 1928 Model
Excellent condition but sadly not getting used as it should.
Complete restoration a few years ago by the previous owner
Very few Original 14/ 40 models have survived
This car is known in the Swift Car Club and shown on their website (mustard colour when in Tasmania)
Reluctant sale but it needs to be used . . The 14/ 40's chassis cost £265, which would have bought you a complete Morris Oxford saloon,
According to the Swift Register, only 212 Swift motor cars of all types are known to survive worldwide This particular Swift was sold new in Tasmania, there being little known of the car's history until it was purchased by Robert Smith of Sandy Bay, Tasmania in 2000. Since coming to the UK the car has been fully restored, painted and re-trimmed in brown leather, the engine overhauled, etc. Various rallies have been completed including the Swift Central Rally in 2002, 2003 and 2005, and the Automobile Tour Ireland in 2008. Finished in green with a brown leather interior and comes equipped with a rear Auster screen and luggage rack. Very well maintained,
