Description
2006 Mercedes E55 AMG
This is the rare 7 seat model and the lastest production year for the E55 with the famous handbuilt M113k supercharged V8 engine .
Approx. 480hp as standard.
114k miles currently on the clock
The body and engine is solid all around and the rear arches are the originals and great condition (shown in photos).
The car has a lot of features such as heated Nappa leather seats, automatic lights and wipers, cruise control, sat nav, electric boot lift, rear climate control, electric memory front seats, rear door air bags, gear shift buttons on steering wheel, phone connectivity is possible with a Bluetooth adaptor, 5 disc changer (also plays MP3 format discs), Harmon kardon sound system to name some.
I have owned the car for 4 years and has been a pleasure to own/ drive, this is a very reluctant sale due to family health causing my wife to have to give up work.
In 2020 the car had new suspension strut (front drivers), oil service, conductor plate and gearbox service, supercharger pump upgraded to Bosch 010, new Bosch alternator, main and auxiliary batteries replaced (AGM), new alarm siren, front left parking sensors replaced, metal idler pulley upgrade.
In 2021 - new airmatic pump, front right parking sensors, oil service
In 2022 - spark Plugs x 16, headlights covers replaced, TCU upgrade fitted from MKUltraelectronics (TJ Merry), oil service, professional ceramic wax, leather seats cleaned and waxed.
In 2023 - rear parking sensors replaced, oil service, SC belt and tensioner replaced, drive belt and tensioner replaced, front passenger suspension strut, upper control arm ball joints, lower control arms and joints replaced (all genuine Lemforder), all 4 alloys professionally refurbed. 2 New front Tyres (Eagle F1) in Dec 2023
The TCU tune is the ultimate offering from MKUltraelectronics and is well known in the AMG community. This adds an 'agility' mode to the gearbox settings and is adapted from the Mercedes McClaren SLR. This makes gear changes faster and more efficient than the standard settings. I did request the engine red line settings to remain the same as the factory as all units are custom ordered and I didn't want the limiter raising.
I run car on matching Eagle F1 tyres and all have plenty of life in them, backs replaced just after the MOT this year (always changed at 3mm rather than the 1. 6mm legal limit). Front changed in Dec '23
Some points worth noting for a car of this age:
-Aircon hasn't worked since I bought it and I haven't really looked into sorting it for the 3 days of summer we actually have. Icarsoft reads a zero pressure from the system so it could have a leak.
-Rear passenger bumper has 'kissed' a wall and has some minor scratching.
-Front drivers side of bumper has been clipped by someone in a car park, minor marks.
-Overall body is very good but this is an 18 year old car so paint is not perfect. I have done my best to protect it in my ownership.
-Slight oil noticed on the undertray coming from the back of the engine. Could be rear seal or the rocker covers (I have new rocker seals that can go with the car).
-Advisory on MOT for rear brakes warped, can see small section not making contact but not braking power is lost.
-I only seem to have 1 key (battery just replaced).
Overall this is a very rare car and an absolute joy to drive, value will only be going up on these (so long as it is well looked after). I have many spares that I can give with the car in hope that the new owner gives the love it deserves .
I have a full spare set of 4 matching alloys with tyres for the car (could do with a refurb), all tyres have tread on them and have been dry stored in my garage just in case. I have many smaller items such as spare rain sensor, rocker gaskets, rear climate control unit, original TCU, spare crank sensor (known to randomly fail so always worth having in the car), front brake discs, rear wiper delete plate (originals are metal and do rust), to name a few.
Private dateless plate could be included if the buyer wishes to keep it, can be discussed.
The car is in regular daily use so mileage will rise slightly. Now at 115, 200I have the service book with history up to 2020 and since then I have collected receipts of all works completed. Some of these are still digital but all part purchases can be found and provided.
