This is the more desirable 2. 6 straight six petrol model with the automatic gearbox. 190 enthusiasts will know what they are buying! The 190 range began in 1982 with carburetted and fuel-injected versions of a two-litre, four-cylinder engine, producing 90bhp and 120bhp respectively. In 1985, a 2. 3-litre version of the engine, now with 16 valves, was introduced, increasing the available power to 136bhp and later that year, a 2. 6-litre version, using an inline six-cylinder engine also joined the range. It produced 160bhp but what made this desirable was its torque output – 162lb·ft for effortless driving and cruising.
According to howmanyleft. co. uk, which uses data from the UK licensing authority, the DVSA, there are just 48 examples of the 2. 6-litre car in the UK currently on the road, with a further 99 currently off the road under SORN (Statutory Off-Road Notice) conditions.
