Description
This beautiful MGB was first registered on 30 March 1972 and has been in the current ownership since Feb 2002 with 6 previous owners. The previous owner had the car thoroughly overhauled by Brown & Gammon at Baldock & it has enjoyed a cosseted life ever since. It has been garaged since 2002 and has never been run on dry days or when there was salt on the roads. It is in it's original colour, British Racing Green, and the paintwork and chrome are in very good condition. The interior and upholstery are original and still in excellent order. The leather seats have a super patina. There is no hard top but the mohair hood was replaced in 2023 with clear rear & side windows giving much improved visibility, also a full & a half mohair tonneau, wire wheels, chrome bumpers, stainless steel exhaust, excellent panel fit with consistent gaps & straight lines, wooden steering wheel, steel wire wheels with spare & tools including mallet and wooden mould in the boot, new speedo in 2010 and so mileage before and after add up to approx 47, 000 miles. This vehicle has been serviced annually by a local garage and is in overall excellent condition. The owner has been a member of the MG Owners Club for over 20 years. Due to age is MOT and Road Tax exempt & as an 'historic vehicle' is believed to be ULEZ exempt. Other details of note are: petrol, 1798cc, overdrive on 3rd & 4th gears, smart crackle black dashboard with clear dials, brand new Bluetooth Pioneer radio/ CD player with Smart Sync fitted at end of July 2024. This is a genuine classic car which is cheap to run with all parts readily available through the MG Owners Club at Swavesey, Cambs. It has proved to be reliable and economical and brings many smiles per mile from both the driver and observers. It benefits from overdrive on 3rd & 4th gears and so easily keeps pace with modern cars on motorways so making touring abroad a real pleasure - more latterly in The Loire Valley in France. This car is well known in the Cambridge and District MG Club and from participating in local rallies such as that held at Kimbolton Castle and further afield such as the Kimber Run in Derbyshire. LLF 197K was chosen by the Mayor of Ely at the 2023 Ely Aquafest as the car he would most like to drive home in! It is believed it to be one of the best and honest examples of this model currently available in the UK. Telephone Cambridge the details below.
