Description
1974 Volkswagen T2 Bay Window Camper with Sheldon high roof.
A much loved VW camper that has been in the same family since 1980. Lots of original features and authenticity. Owner has passed away.
Mechanically sound with the larger 1795cc engine (original). Camper has been on adventures to Italy and South of France, a testament to it’s larger engine. Fitted Weber Carburettors and Commercial tyres. Vehicle runs well and is ready to drive away and enjoy. Van has been stored in a garage.
Interior trim is good. Carpeted Sheldon high roof so you can stand up, which includes storage areas front and rear. Inside clean and tidy with decent conversion including gas hob, sink, taps and fridge. Kitchen cupboards and underneath seat storage for gas bottles and water tank. Separate leisure battery. Walk through from front to rear, no exiting the vehicle. The rear seat converts into a double bed. The single seat extends to make seating for 2 and also has storage. Dining table with seating for at least 4. Comes with a new grey carpet for cab (ready to be fitted). Spare wheel and carrier.
Bodywork generally good - underneath is solid, no welding. There is some rust, mainly the front driver and passenger doors and the drivers side rear lower corner panel. The odometer and fuel gauge are not entirely accurate as can be with this age vehicle. There is a small crack in part of the spoiler, this can be repaired or spoiler removed if not to your taste. There are some additional driver and passenger doors that were purchased and come with the vehicle if required.
Full service history - receipts from major and minor parts from 1980-2023. Owner and garage serviced vehicle. Last garage service 2023. VW instruction manuals. MOT and road tax exempt. Last MOT expiry May 2017. Vehicle passed MOT 2015 and 2016 no advisories.
