Description
This is a really sound and good looking MGB Roadster in the best colour Brooklands Green and with the all important overdrive,
I didn’t realise but the last MGBs had improved rust protection which had been an expensive job to repair. This car has good sills and floors and the body is sound. The paintwork looks great but has some minor indents, a couple of areas which could be improved and surface rust in the seams underneath but is structurally good. The wheels are good and straight original rostyles and the tyres are serviceable but I would upgrade them.
The hood is fine and has had a repair on the rear quarter window but is otherwise in good shape and as waterproof as they ever were! The interior is leather - another advantage of these late cars. The carpets are are good and there is a new black carpet set in the boot to match the rest.
I have fitted new rear brake shoes and adjusters to the rear wheels as one was faulty. The front pads will need changing soon but this is an easy job.
The engine and gearbox are lovely,
Smooth, quiet and good oil pressure. The steering and suspension are also excellent. I would guess that the mileage is correct at just over 100k. The overdrive works well and I have had a headlight on electrical fault fixed.
So, why am I selling it? I’m not! It’s my daughter’s car and she is after a 4 seat convertible, hence the sale. The car is dry stored near Salisbury and can be viewed there. There is a good deal of service history in a thick file.
Do call to chat about it and come and view. the details below.
Thanks for looking.
TomIt’s great value, easy to repair, cheap parts, low insurance, no road tax, no
MOTs. The MGB Roadster is an under rated classic and can be used daily. I love them and can vouch for this one.
