Ultra rare low mileage and exceptional example of the iconic Gordini Series Renault Clio RS200 with essential Cup Pack which comprises twin-effect hydraulic dampers, a quicker steering rack, stiffer springs and torque-steer-killing ‘independent steering axis’ front suspension geometry, also red Brembo brakes all round. The Gordini is in fantastic Malta Blue with pristine blue and dark grey stitched leather seats and an overall excellent interior. Number 60 of 500. Number plate LV60 COU. Original car in exceptional condition inside and out and with original spec Gordini wheels in blue and silver, but with a new professionally fitted lightweight stainless-steel cat-back exhaust system plus an induction kit. This car has a truly exceptional engine that starts first time every time, and thanks to the new exhaust system it now sounds fantastic. It also runs cool thanks to the new water pump. It’s a great collector’s car but it’s also a potential track-day weapon, though it’s never been tracked or run round the ‘Ring’ where everyone I know takes them. ‘Only’ 197 bhp (200PS) but only 1204kg. In my 1-year ownership it’s had a new cam-belt fitted (essential in these cars and complex/ expensive to fit), new aux belt, new water pump and all new pullies. It also benefits from new, correct, NGK plugs and OEM coil packs, a recent oil and filter change and rear brake pads and rear discs (in 2024), and new rear stainless steel brake calliper springs for the handbrake. It’s also had the gearbox synchros replaced (in 2023) so fast gear changes are now super smooth, and the front lower control arms were replaced last year. Clutch is in excellent condition. Car will also come with a pair of brand new Brembo front discs and matching Brembo pads though there is still plenty of life left in the existing ones. I also have 2 spare 'front-rear' wheel arch liners which are like unicorns to find. Everything on this car works 100%: folding mirrors, rear parking sensors, both windows, lights, horn, all wipers, original radio/ CD player. Everything. No squeaks and rattles. Tyres and wheels in excellent original condition and not curbed. FSH and all books and invoices plus original Renault wallet come with the car plus 2 keys. Car comes with a clean MOT with no advisories and none for the last 5 years. MOT expires in January 2024. It’s also ULEZ compliant and pretty economical if driven calmly which is hard at times as the car is a snarly thing. Paint has a small number of very small surface scratches but otherwise is in great condition and still shiny. Has chilly aircon, rear parking sensors, electric folding mirrors, original radio CD with phone connectivity. I am only selling the Gordini because I’ve bought a classic Mercedes 300CE to slow me down a bit and I don’t have room for another car. I bought the Clio RS Gordini because I once owned a Renault 5 Gordini in almost the same colour. The Clio is easily the best handling car I have ever owned and I have owned a lot of quite quick ones. For a non-turbo engine, it's pretty quick but it's also very comfortable despite the Cup chassis. Brilliant little car and I have never seen another one on the road.
