The Jag has had 2 owners. Purchased May 2000 after 1 year's use by the Service Manager at H J Owen, Jaguar Main Dealers in Ealing. Low mileage and full service history from new, whilst under warranty by Jaguar dealers, since then by a trusted local garage who have expertise in maintaining classic cars. Bodywork, interior and engine all original and unmodified. Most recent repair was replacement of fuel pump and cleanout of complete fuel supply system. Running well now with no warning lights on instrument panel, and drives beautifully including with Sports gear switch on. Has always passed its MOT. My reason for selling is that I am now 87 years old, and my future driving years are becoming limited. OK so the car is 25 years old. It has now reached a point where it would benefit from the attention of a younger Jaguar Enthusiast to carry out modest renovation and preservation work to give this beautiful Jaguar model another 25 years of proud ownership and driving experience. An investment in an increasingly appreciated Jaguar. Here is an honest appraisal of the areas that would benefit from attention in my Jaguar. Not unusually for an X308 some more work needed on corrosion, de-rusting and sealing on the underside. The interior leather upholstery is in good condition, but some deterioration has been noted in some plastic fittings (including rear window ledge). I have had interior roof lining re-stretched (which is prone to droop on the X308. I have not got round to replacing a cracked offside rear lamp (new unit required). The air conditioning unit requires a service. That's about it. See from the pictures that the car looks good - opens up admiring discussion with passers by. Above all I have always admired the driving experience of this Jaguar, and its sleek body - the last and the best of XJ8 in the X308 format. Driving a 3. 2 litre 1999 Jaguar XJ8 Sports Vehicle offers a blend of luxury and performance. Be careful initially if you have not driven one before. It is quite low slung for a saloon and visibility when parking especially can need careful attention. The 3. 2-litre engine provides smooth, silent and robust power, making for swift acceleration and effortless cruising. The ride is comfortable with a well-tuned suspension that balances sportiness with comfort. The interior is fitted with high-quality materials including fawn leather, fitted floor coverings and a classic design that Jaguar is known for. Overall, it’s a driving experience that combines elegance with power. Enjoy the next 25 years of owning and driving it.
