Description
Up for grabs, regrettably is my automatic T5 SWB day van. The reason I am selling this is because we have an added a bundle of joy to the family and so we require a bigger vehicle seating wise.
The van is a 2005 2. 5 ltr diesel, 174bhp strong motor which has the old school gear driven engine meaning there are no belts / chains to worry about. Currently it is sat at 177k which if looked after, this engine could pretty much do this all again!
The van still pulls as strong as an ox, through all gears with no issues and has the following fitted / added.
New 12 month MOT expires June 2025.
NEW intercooler system after a stone broke it last month.
Full Clifford alarm system
HALO headlights which have automatic sensor.
Lower individually switched front spot lights
Hako wind deflectors
Audi black and green 20 inch 5 spoke alloys.
(Could do with respraying if so desired)
Internal glow up T2 van (nightlight)
Golf GTI Upgraded steering wheel.
2 + 1 front seats with leather upholstery.
7inch touch screen stereo with upgraded speakers an 1200w sub system.
Under driver seat diesel cab heater fitted straight to the engine fuel tank for those cold nights out.
2 x foldable/ quick release/ removable ford custom seats with isofix in rear.
50 litre fridge.
21 inch smart tv.
Storage cabinets.
Awning rail fitted to attach drive away tent.
2x 110amp leisure batteries connected to van via relay to charge leisure batteries when engine is running but also connected to 100w solar panel on roof which trickle feeds the batteries when static and engine off.
4 x 240v plugs with electric hook up under bonnet and fuse breaker box in rear.
Self built U shaped frame for sofa and can be built into a double bed which two full size adults can easily comfortably sleep in.
Electrical 5 switch Control unit in rear of van to control power to internal roof lighting / cabinet floor lighting tv and powered accessories.
THE NOT SO GOOD PARTS....
Unfortunately, as to be expected with a 20 year old bus, the paint has seen better days and subsequently has paint fade an marks in places which could do with a touch up.
There are also a few small rust patches along door edges which I unfortunately haven't the time to sand, treat and clean up.
Some lovely "individual" reversed into the rear bumper and drove off within Asda.... causing paint damage to the o/ s rear corner (see image) but structurally it's ok. But to be honest, the whole bumper could do with a respray.
The sliding door locking mechanism 'overruns' resulting in a wining noise when opens but fully works.
And finally, the drivers door holding hinge has broken meaning the door will not hold open. These holding hinges are not expensive too replace, I've just not had an opportunity to fix this.
This van is a fantastic base to build from, adding your own touches if so desired or to be used straight away! Such a shame to let it go after all we as a family have put into building this project from an old panel van.. but I guess family calls.
I have many photos from throughout the build if you so desire to see.
