Description
TVR Chimaera 500
Huge expense on this car in the last few years. I have owned since late 2015 and in the last few years have invested heavily in chassis, suspension, engine and running gear and many other upgrades. If I were to keep her I’d now turn my attention to cosmetics and maybe paint her, seat re leather and probably carpets, although I’d probably be too scared to drive her if I painted! List of investments in last 3000 miles. All work carried out by TVR specialists mostly Big Colin at TVRSSW. Aircon , Non PAS .
- Top end rebuild including V8 Developments stealth cam
- Front suspension new wishbones top and bottom, drop links , wheel bearings
- New Bilstein coils and dampers all four corners from Ben at Blackdown Automotive ( ex TVR suspension engineer)
- Differential refurb by Grantura Racing ( TVR Specialist)
- Outriggers replaced 2023 by TVRSSW
- New ACT Cherrybomb exhaust all standard cats in place, sounds awesome.
- Red top battery moved to boot, lots of passenger leg room now , all rats nest cleaned up, new meta alarm from Abacus ( TVR specialist), ecu refurbished.
- Headlights re-silvered, brighter bulbs.
- ACT induction kit
- New AIR Flow meter and Stepper Motor
- new fuel pump and all fuel hoses upgraded for new fuels and ethanol content.
- ceramic plugs , new condenser and ignition module yesterday. Plugs, leads, air filter oil filter last 100 miles. Along with all oils, engine gearbox, diff.
- the following other parts, water pump, alternator, re-cored radiator, veneered dashboard, adjustable fuel regulator
- bigger brake upgrade , drilled discs.
- Toyos Proxes all round
- four wheel set up
She really has had everything and drives incredibly well, think you’ll struggle to find a better one. Rolls Royce Diamond Sapphire Black (only one I’ve seen in this colour) , turns blueish black in sunlight. Green and Mushroom full hide interior. Huge history file with original bill of sale from HR Owen 1997, TVR Service book with stamps up to 53k and every receipt since 1997 to present day.
MOT yesterday, passed first time with no advisories. Chimaera 500's are rare, I'd always wanted a V8 and when I test drove the 500 it had so much more than the 400. Balance and handling better than the Griffith and the boot is massive!
