Description
Capots Vintage, specialists in classic and prestige cars in Lyon, are offering for sale a beautiful 1973 BMW 3. 0 CSA E9. Introduced in 1971 to replace the 2800 CS, it boasts a 3-litre engine delivering 180 bhp. This model marked a significant step forward with the addition of power steering and four-wheel disc brakes, responding to criticisms levelled at the previous version. By the end of production in December 1975, 8122 examples had been produced, of which 3667 were the 3. 0 CSA version, fitted with a three-speed ZF automatic transmission. The entire E9 range was a great success, with more than 30, 000 units produced, doubling the sales of its predecessor. The car on offer is an original French model, delivered new to Bagneux and put on the road on 20 June 1973. It sports an elegant metallic blue 'Natchblau' paintwork code 040, with navy blue velvet upholstery. Its twin-carburettor in-line six-cylinder engine was mated to a three-speed ZF automatic gearbox. This grand touring coupé has recently undergone a number of refurbishments. In June 2023, our car was completely repainted in its original colour. The seals were replaced, and electric windows were added to the front, with the original mechanism. The rear windows are original electric. The cylinder head, silent blocks and chrome bonnet and wing grilles have been replaced. To enhance the driving experience, Bilstein B6 shock absorbers have been fitted, along with a stainless steel exhaust system. Finally, Michelin XWX tyres have recently been fitted by its last owner, making this a fine example of a 3. 0 CSA. Matching Colors and of French origin, it is recognisable with its specific driver's mirror and yellow headlight lenses. According to the information we have, this car has only had 5 owners since it was put on the road. We have the invoice file, photos of the bodywork restoration and the spare keys. It can be taken over for your classic or prestige vehicle. For more information, visit our website: - details above
