Kurt Baum racing car 1100 - 1951 - Racing sports car Kurt Baum became famous in 1947 with his Formula 2 racing car based on the BMW 328. We are offering a very rare Baum racing sports car from 1951. Kurt Baum used a vehicle frame from the BMW type 319, built in 1936, for this vehicle concept. The body is an aluminium body with a load-bearing steel lattice tube frame.
The car was acquired by the previous owner in 1985 and lovingly restored and technically modified between 1986 and 1988.
In the course of its use, the vehicle was fitted with a 1500cc Alfa Romeo engine with 115 hp and a 5+1 manual gearbox.
After the renovation, the racing car was used on the Sachsenring, at the Hamburg City Park Race and on the Avus motorway in Berlin.
The vehicle is currently in a serviceable condition.
