Description
A very real and honest example of a 1992 Defender 90. Very well looked after, with significant records. Stored in a garage currently and driven infrequently for leisure.
I purchased this car in the summer of 2021 and have enjoyed owning this "head turner" limited edition red 90. I bought the car from a local collector, who equally kept the car as part of a collection, the previous owner I'm told provided vehicles for film and TV productions.
I would encourage all potential buyers to fully scrutinise the many photos I have uploaded. This is a 32 yr old vehicle, and a utility vehicle. Hence it has a few bumps and bruises, but only things you need to search for, nothing glaringly obvious, if anything the blemishes on this truck add to the charm. This continues in the interior, where there are scuffs and occasional damage to some of the trim and seats. On the flip side, study the photos, because you'll also see that aesthetically there is so much to love about this car. On the whole it its in a very good condition, the body work is mostly clean and preserved. The underside is all original work and again mostly kept dry. There is some potential maintenance a new owner could do, in terms of a light scrub down and cover, but equally the current condition allows a new buyer to fully see under the vehicle and inspect the condition.
Also photographed is the folder of service records and the car's original service book, from 1992. The documentation provided with this car is extensive, I don't believe I am missing anything from this car's entire
mechanical journey. In my ownership I have changed the belt, undertaken two MOTS, changed axle bushes, pads, discs and callipers at the front. Over this cars 32 years its had general maintenance work as required at the correct intervals and provided in the documentation.
The defender drives incredibly well. We live in the countryside and have enjoyed driving carefully over various dirt roads and tracks, we have also used for leisure and driven at higher speeds on A roads. Our young children love sitting in the back on adventures and this car handily has two front facing rear seats, which can be folded away to increase space in the rear.
In our tenure we have driven just over 2000 miles in 3 years, hence very low use and plenty, I mean plenty of life in these machines.
As usual please consider carefully all of the information and photos before requesting a visit to see the vehicle. Any sale will need to be completed via the secure payment service Car & Classic offer. At the moment we will not be accepting offers under the asking for this vehicle, whilst we gauge initial interest. This is truly a head-turner, you're guaranteed a wave and a smile. It's such a stunning example of a British staple, it's red bodywork and white roof is truly a classic look and it's rare to find a model with 4 seats of this age, with rear windows & in this model/ colour.
The car drives equally well over fields, winding lanes and busier roads. You will love the drive of this car. You'll love the high driving position and comfortable upgraded front seats.
Passengers love the rear access and fold down seats, great fun for little ones.
And best of all, you'll love the all-weather drivability. Rain or shine, mud or tarmac. With the functional snorkel you're also able to drive through floodwater if needed.
