Description

1955 Morris Minor, in Empire Green.
TAX / MOT AND ULEZ exempt.
The car has been in the family from new, my grandparents collected the car new from Cowley, it then spent the next 45 years in Southwold Suffolk where they lived. My grandma left the car to me when she passed, however I was too young to drive so my dad took ownership. During that time they had the car restored.

I took ownership from my dad in 2017 when I bought a place with a garage. The car has always been garaged and was used as a daily car by my grandparents. In my grandmas latter years the car was only used a few times a week to drive 1 mile into town for the shops and back. In 2004-2005 the was car restored, all paperwork available. Since restoration the car has always been garaged and used two or three times per week during the summer but less often during the winter, only on dry roads.

I replaced the water pump replaced in 2017 and the engine was fully reconditioned in 2018, paperwork also available showing works done. The whining differential was replaced in 2019. The master brake cylinders and slave cylinders, pads and drums were all replaced in 2019.
Body work and chassis all are in good condition, new head lining fitted and carpets. The chassis was treated with a protector paint whilst in my dad’s possession.
There are a couple of minor rust marks around the wings (see photos).
The car retains its side Semaphore/ Trafficators, and its original seats and door cards, (the seats are quite worn and have been covered for over 20 years).

Original owners manual, service book with stamps and most of the previous tax discs present.

The reason for sale is due to me finding it increasingly hard to find time to give the car a run, as mentioned before it only goes out when weather and road conditions permit (dry) - as having two young children, I just can’t find the time. It would be nice to see the car in the hands of an enthusiast.

£7, 000I believe this to be a rare example of a much cared for, 69 year old Morris Minor S2 split screen, which retains all original features and one which has been in the same family from new, I’m listed as the third owner and have copies of previous v5s in addition to the current one.
