Description
Mechanically sound, great engine, plus it just passed MOT with no advisories.
The engine is beautiful, sounds great and has been well maintained by a local Maserati, Ferrari, Lamborghini specialist - who have a top team.
Interior is in great condition, lovely wood, alcantara and leather. Beautiful - with, of course, the Maserati clock!
New in car hifi, with new Alpine amp, header unit, hands free, Bluetooth etc. - making this car a very useable daily car - or perfect for when saved for times when a bit occasion is needed.
Bodywork and under the car are solid - lots of work carried out recently to address rust around wheel arches etc. - so all done.
Paintwork has light marks - but is generally lovely condition. Wheels very nearly perfect. All light clusters clear and unmarked.
Just had new starter motor and battery - so starts and runs like a dream.
It has a Momo steering wheel from a Ghibli Cup - it felt a better drive with it than with the wooden rimmed wheel.
Private plate will be removed an original R plate reinstated.
Always kept garaged and never used in winter.
What you need to know......
the adjustable suspension has a fault, but i never used it anyway - it was an optional extra - made little difference- hence not being a priority. Probably some contacts on one of the shocks, maybe the shock needs a refurb.
One place has just started to show some rust (after the work was completed) - just under the A pillar plastic trim. But as I said above, loads of work was done, so otherwise solid. Fantastic, rare, handsome Italian that drives fantastically, sounds great, has a great turn of speed when the turbos spin and is eyecatching and understated in equal measure.
Reliable and practical (4 proper seats, a real boot - so good as a Grand Tourer - and for me, it was good that the kids could get in it). The 2. 8 V6 biturbo is torquey, the turbos spin up quickly creating a real whoosh, making it an easy drive. Though I can't say that I ever go near any limits in it - I just love the sense of occasion and cruise about enjoying the journey.
This is a Ghibli GT model - the last model - from when Ferrari had bought Maserati. Hence the improvement in build quality, reliability and even the introduction of some Ferrari parts being used in the suspension and other areas as part of this final iteration.
It always feels like an occasion to drives it - with its low seating position, glorious sound, the leather and wood cocoon. People often come ask me about it, not knowing what it is.
I love this car - but after so many years (nearly 14) it is time for a change, I just have not used it enough over recent years, so time to find someone who could love this rare and handsome beast.
