HERITAGE SHELL
My MGB had a ground up restoration in 2002/ 3 using a new Heritage shell and carried out by a retired senior aircraft engineer to grade 1 standards The new body was wax oiled and painted in tartan red by an expert paint sprayer
The engine was rebored and many new parts fitted also the gearbox and overdrive were rebuilt and worn parts replaced. The rear suspension was fitted with factory parabolic springs. and telescopic shocks which gives a compliant ride and then stiffen when conering hard to give better handling
Special parts fitted:- stainless steel exhaust
Chrome wire wheels almost new
Electric fan
Re glazed hood
Audible indicator signal
Electronic security system
Hazard flashers
Radio/ cd
Fire extinguisher
Retractable seat belts
Tonneau cover and folded hood cover
Fresh air vents
Locking glove box
Battery cut out switch
Cloth faced seats with headrests
Original vinyl seats supplied
Upgraded headlights
All invoices from renovation kept with £15k value
Phto album of renovation
This outstanding example has always been kept in a dry workshop/ garage and only used in the spring/ summer and will retain its value far better than an MGB renovation from an original and usually rusty body. A heritage shell now costs approx £15k so this car represents outstanding value
