Sadly the time has come to sell my cherished, very early model, MX-5 (UK Spec chassis no. 596). 'Goat' has been garaged stored since the beginning of my ownership in 2017 and since then has undergone an underside restoration along with regular servicing and a new mohair roof this year.
The rear sills and arches along with the front sills were all restored in 2021, with no expense spared, by Bill Rawles Classic Cars, located in Hampshire. At the same time the front wings were replaced with brand new parts (see pictures). The rear and front wings have both been re-sprayed (at the time of restoration).
The car features a new (as of 02/ 2024) mohair hood which has not been taken on the road as of yet and she has also had a full paint correction detail and ceramic coating package from a local professional vehicle detailer.
I have kept ontop of all maintenance, however I would look at replacing the timing belt in 2025. The only other mods I have completed is fitting an mx5 parts exhaust and some underside chassis bracing which really helps improve the ride quality. A Hardtop included.
This is a very early model (no. 596) and in extremely good condition inside and out. It has served me well over the years of my ownership, despite not getting as much use as I would have liked, so I'd really like her to go to a good home!
