Description
I bought this Mini in 2006 from The Little Car Company based in Tiverton. It has just one previous owner from new.
This Mini has been subject to a meticulous professional restoration undertaken by The Real Mini Company in Oxfordshire (@therealminicompany). Every stage of the project has been photographed and documented in a booklet to illustrate the complete journey and how thoroughly the work has been done.
Since the work was completed in October 2020 the car has driven only 600 miles, it has been kept garaged and never taken out in wet weather.
The exterior is pristine. There is an electric sunroof and inside, the Mini has grey leather seats with red trim, red one-piece carpet and walnut dashboard, all in excellent condition.
The MOT is valid until August 2025. Advisories on the test certificate to address slight play in the nearside rear wheel bearing and to replace a section of perished fuel pipe have both been addressed so nothing is outstanding.
The original alloy wheels are available for restoration if wanted. I also have the original radio cassette player. 2 days after buying this Mini I drove it to Italy and spent the summer touring the lakes and mountains of the north. It was just a joy to drive it on those winding roads and around those hairpin bends with that big sunroof wide open.
After returning to the UK carrying more cheese, wine and olive oil than you’d imagine such a small car could hold it became my everyday vehicle for work. Always reliable it carried me all over the country in my travelling sales role, coping especially well on snow and fitting into the smallest of parking spaces.
It was rust that eventually forced it off the road in 2016. By then the bond between us was so strong I decided to invest substantially in a professional restoration of the Mini to keep it going.
Whilst it will break my heart to part with this little car, life has moved on. It is time now for someone else to enjoy it and I’d love to think it might drive through the Monte Bianco tunnel another time.
