Description
My beloved 1975 Fulvia is now up for sale. It’s a truly wonderful car and turns heads wherever it goes. At 24 years old, it’s now time for me to grow up and get on the property ladder and this car is where I’ve tied my money for the past 2 years and I’ve loved every single moment behind the wheel.
She came over from Italy in April 2022, sourced by a chap called Paul Algeo who is well regarded in the classic Italian car scene. I am the second registered keeper on the V5.
It’s a Fulvia Coupe 1. 3 with twin Solex carbs and a dogleg 5-speed manual. The engine is absolutely flawless and the carbs have very recently been set up and balanced so it idles perfectly too. It’s great fun to drive and makes a brilliant noise thanks to the wonderfully soulful V4 engine. It’s a bloody quick little car too for what it is. Weight is minimal and they’re roughly 90bhp so makes for great power:weight. It doesn’t leak, nor use any oil and it’s so tidy under the bonnet, you could eat your dinner off the engine bay!
The bodywork is beautiful too, finished in Rosso Red. There is absolutely no rust at all as the car was fully restored in her past life in Italy and I keep it her a dry garage. There are pictures of the body having new floors and sills and being resprayed. The engine and gearbox were also rebuilt at the same time so nearly everything is new.
The interior is tidy and original with a nice unique touch to the dashboard. The Lancia and Fulvia emblem were hand-painted by my very talented sister. I had the dash all in pieces a few months back to fix the heater controls so it works perfectly now too.
I’ve had some recent work carried out to the car
Front driveshafts rebuilt
Front brake calipers rebuilt
Handbrake system rebuilt
Rear brakes replaced. Still a bit squeaky whilst they’re bedding it - these are much quieter now than they were.
New battery
Clutch cable
Few electrical bits sorted so there are no faults
Classic Mini indicators on the front. Used to have rectangular ones which looked nice but were wrong wattage so they didn’t work.
You’d be hard pushed to find a better one for sale. Everything works as it should and shes a cracking car to drive.
I’ve owned many classics including Minis, beetles, R107 Mercedes SL, a few 190E’s, and some more modern classics so she has always been in good company.
I’ve always kept her in a garage so always away from the elements.
Included with the sale is both sets of keys, the original Italian logbook which these days is extremely delicate. V5 is in my name.
She’s taxed, insured and MOT exempt. And also ULEZ complaint I’ve been told.
She’s now being sold mainly for the fact that I just don’t use her anywhere near enough. I have 9 cars in total and I have a 120 mile round trip to and from work which I use my daily car for. Done it a few times in the Fulvia and she always gets me there and back without a hitch. I don’t think I’ve done more than 2000 miles in my 2 year ownership but I have all the faith that I could drive anywhere tomorrow and she’d get me there.
I’ve got her up for good money and I know there are cheaper ones, but none will be as perfect as this. I will wait for the right buyer and won’t entertain silly offers.
