Company History
The Ariès was built in Villeneuve de La Garenne, was an initiative of Baron Charles Petiet who founded the company in 1902.
The first years Aries built luxury cars where the driver and important/ rich people sat separately. Later in 1910 Aries built commercial vehicles to supply the army with building materials and other aids.
In 1920 Aries decided to take a step into the racing world and built several models. The technology was progressive with one of the first an overhead camshaft.
They built several models, including a 2-seater racing car, but also a 4-seater tourer and closed cars. Most of them were made of metal and only a few of wood with a fabric body.
This Ariès CC4S is the only one that is still known with this body of légère by Audineau (lightweight body by Audineau) according to the Weymann principle; leather cloth upholstery over a light wooden gabarit.

History of this car
This Aries was once bought by an Italian from France where the restoration started. There they started with the base but did not finish it. A few years later, a Dutch enthusiast bought this car who already had 2 Aries. Due to lack of time, this person did not get around to it and sold the car to another Dutchman who immediately started restoring the Aries.
This Aries has been completely restored, with the chassis blasted and sprayed. The woodwork has been completely checked and restored. Furthermore, the car has been reupholstered and the interior has also been phenomenally done with the original Art Deco trimmings, bands and tassels!
The electrical wiring has been completely renewed with wire with cotton wrapping in one color, which was common at the time. This has a very authentic look!
Now this beautifully restored but also unique Aries CC4S from 1925 is looking for a new owner.
