Description
This is the much sought after 4x4 version which has been converted to an on/ off grid camper for 2/ 3 people. Very few 4x4's were sold in the UK due to the price and low mileage vehicles with no rust are very hard to find. Ask any Sprinter trade dealer and they will tell you that the best vans made were those between 2008 and 2018 and many won't deal in anything post 2018 as the vehicle quality fell significantly and they are losing money on the warranties they have to give. This was one of two bought new by a vets practice in mid Wales where the roads are not salted. It took me over a year to find this one. 4x4 Sprinters are so competent that they are killing the market for the bigger Unimog, Mann and other military based vehicle based campers.
Everyone that reads this will have their own dream camper layout. Having extensively travelled in Europe and Morocco in Landcruisers and a 2 wheel drive extra long high top Sprinter, they were great but something was missing in both vehicles. Then I bought this van and spent £10K and WOW. I've recently returned from 10 weeks down to Greece and I'm still smiling. My twins live in Australia and are big surfers. So I went though all the strict Aussie paperwork (ROVER) but got declined due to their crazy vehicle/ residency rules. So that is why it's for sale.
It comes with everything you need to take off and explore including:
- Renogy and Ecoflow lithium batteries as well as the Mercedes Leisure battery
- Portable 100W solar panel with MPPT
- Diesel heater
- Flamina 800 awning
- Internal hob, out side cooker and lots of Jetboil, all with lots of gas cylinders
- Levelling ramps
- Recovery tracks (unused)
- 10 ton bottle jack that is manual or compressed air
- Ring compressor
- Swivelling double passenger seat
- Multipe Garmin units and forward facing traffic cam
- Outside table and chairs
- All cooking equipment
- First aid kit
- AND MORE!
The van has a full service history. I'm over fussy about maintenance as I travel alone and am disabled. The only faults are the two skylights which were not installed very well (but are dry) and if I was keeping the van I would replace them and I've allowed for this in the price. Also the Wyvern water tank over a rear wheel arch for the shower is only 20 litres, which was fine for me but can easily be exchanged for a bigger one using the same fixings, or an additional tank installed in the now unused spare wheel well.
Search for other 4x4 Sprinter campers and you won't find anything close to this price. Please message me with any further questions. Viewing essential for both of our safety.
Sorry but no exchangesThis van comes with everything. All you have to do is fill the tank and go. I will forget something but here are the key points:
1/ A double fixed bed in the rear with expensive mattress and a long bench seat with new and expensive cushions. So it's perfect for 3 people. The front double passenger seat swivels 180 and then there is seating for six people.
2/ As you step into the van the kitchen unit is immediately on your right. It has a two burner gas hob, fridge and storage. I took out the oven and bought a Ninja air cooker
3/ This van was ordered with the optional lead acid battery under the passenger seat. It now has a 100 Renogy linked to the leisure battery with a Victron DC/ DC charger in between. Then in the back is a massive Ecoflow Delta 2 Max power bank. This is a £1500 unit with a 3K watt inverter. It's been set up so the fridge runs off grid for 3 days. But there is also a 100 folding solar panel with MPPT that can charge either battery
3/ There is a shower on the rear door with a John Lewis curtain pole and shower curtain
4/ I spent £550 on the best rear and side door screens on the market from Webbnet. So you can sit inside without bugs
5/ I hardly used the internal gas hob. The van comes with a. external gas hob and £400 worth of Jetboil kit
6/ A brand new 10 ton bottle jack which is either manual or air
7/ A diesel heater that runs off the main tank as long as there is more than 25%. I've tested it and it works but never used it
8/ All cooking equipment
9/ Levelling ramps
10/ A big expensive awning
I so wanted to take this vehicle to Aus but I can't. I'll cry when it goes. But make me cry and I promise I've concealed nothing. If you have my asking price you can stay in the van overnight and test it on and off grid
