It has been really cared for, and used as my daily driver. So, over the last few years of ownership:
The engine bay wiring loom has been replaced, as has:
the cylinder head gasket,
water pump,
coil packs,
header tank,
coolant level sensor,
all coolant hoses,
A/ C evaporator/ condensor,
engine mounts, gearbox mount,
it has recent Bilstein B6 front dampers,
new strut top mounts,
discs, pads, handbrake shoes,
4 good used window regulators fitted,
soft close tailgate mechanism replaced,
recent Dunlop tyres,
new windscreen,
wiper motor arm mech stripped and lubricated,
new rear exhaust section.
Blower motor replaced
Along with the Becker Cascade I also replaced the in-dash speakers. All of the things that will inevitably fail or wear out, have been attended to. Even the original alarm works off the fob, with full closure still functioning.
Carpets have luxury overmats, as does the luggage area. The original cargo net and load cover blind are there, and work perfectly.
It has had two mishaps, both as a result of my stupidity, and both inside the garage at home! The first was a tipping over incident with a motorcycle (now sold) which dented the wing and broke off the Sportline badge. I have the badge, see the pictures for details.. The wing pulled out fine and only the Sacco panel will need addressing. The second was when a motorcycle paddock stand hanging on the garage wall decided it wanted to drop onto the passenger door. The damage isn't significant, and is an easy repair for someone that is certain they can't live with it. See pictures for the details.
It drives like a Sportline specified car should. The Bilsteins are a great alternative to the NLA OEM Sportline dampers and the ride is compliant and well controlled. The SLS keeps you on the level and it steers, stops, and goes like you'd expect and I have no reason to believe that it won't keep doing that for the next 25 years for its new owner.
I have a huge pile of receipts, the original drivers folder and manuals. I'm sure you have checked out the MOT history, so you can see that recently the mileage is declining, and this is the reason I'm selling the car. I really shouldn't, as I know that another like this won't come up very often, but it is time to let it go and allow its next keeper to enjoy and hopefully use it as its intended.
If the price is met, I'll include the OEM roof bars.
There is a spot of corrosion on the offside front wing. Wheel arches are free of rust, this car is a cared for example and lives in a dry garage when not out and about. Unfortunately my motorcycle fell on the nearside and has dented the chrome strip on the Sacco panel, which was also damaged. I have priced accordingly. This has been my 6th W124, my 3rd S124 and is by far the best specified one I have owned. In my opinion, it is one of the better UK examples on the market right now. Pretty much as it left the factory other than the Becker Cascade fitted and the Bilsteins. It is a Sportline Chassis car, so has the faster steering rack, wider alloys, and lowered springs.
