Description
For sale is my 1959 Hillman Minx series III convertible, 'Martha'. I bought her in 2020 after a restoration by the previous owner had been completed, including a full respray in the original Ocean Blue. Over time however, the paint has sunk leaving small marks, so she may require paint again at some point, but this has certainly never bothered me as it is not noticeable unless up close.
She is a real head turner and always draws in a crowd wherever we take her, and she has covered many faultless miles in our ownership. I am the fourth owner and have old MOT certificates back as far as 1969 which lead me to believe that the mileage is genuine. I also have a copy of the factory build record from the Rootes Archive Trust which will be included in her history file.
She has a three position hood that can either be fully closed, partially open with the forward section rolled back, or fully folded with the rear side windows wound down out of sight for a pillarless look. The hood is in very good condition with no rips or tears.
At 65 years old, she is obviously showing signs of wear, but she is a very rare, usable classic. Viewing recommended to truly appreciate her!
