Description
Dutch R 26, fitted with the original registration number, photo album of the restoration, manual and an extensive engine questionnaire. Restored with love and craftsmanship for personal use and owned by the previous owner for over 15 years. As you can understand, everything has been renewed on the BMW and it has hardly been ridden since restoration. A new frame has been used from another R26. Serviced and ready for the enthusiast. A great nostalgic bike for a relaxed drive!
The R26 is the forerunner of the BMW boxer and very rare. BMW started producing a modern single-cylinder, shaft drive engine in 1925, and thanks to the German commitment to ‘erstklassige Qualität’, the mono had an excellent reputation. These engines were robust and reliable and therefore excellent as an everyday means of transport. The engine was further developed to 247cc and built through 1967.
