Description
This is the 8 valve non-turbo entry model Saab 900i in Cherry Red. I bought the car in July 2021 from a deceased estate, and the previous owner had the car for 31 years during which time it was always garaged. During his last years of ownership the car did very few miles, but was still serviced annually by an independent local Saab specialist. There is a very substantial (though not quite complete) service history with the car, including sales invoices, old V5s and many service/ repair/ MOT invoices.
During my ownership a new head-lining has been fitted, the lower bodywork and door bottoms have been professionally repaired and resprayed to an excellent standard (invoice available), with the whole underbody protected with black wax. The car now looks really very good and polishes up well, with no rust. This summer the wheels have been shot-blasted and resprayed with new Michelin tyres on the front. There are rubs on all corners of the bumpers, as is nearly always the case, and the boot lid has 2 small areas of historic touch-up where an item was caught at the back of the garage, but otherwise the bodywork is excellent.
The car runs quietly and drives well. All gears can be selected easily, but the clutch bites high on the pedal and the thrust bearing is becoming noisy - these will probably need replacing before too much longer. It is MOT'd until April 2025.
The interior is in excellent condition with no cracks on the dashboard, good carpets and upholstery, and just a couple of small areas on the side of the drivers seat where the seam of the fabric has started to give way (visible on the photo).
Overall this is a very genuine unmolested car with excellent bodywork and lots of history, and nice touches like a period radio and the original dealer rear window sticker and number plates still in place.
Any inspection is welcome.
