Very rare barn find restoration project or use as is
One owner in the Uk since imported back in 2016 and all relevant paperwork and V5 etc
Early Generation 6 factory 500 GT V8 5. 7 (Chassis H ) very few this shape made and have survived
Historic vehicle so MOT and road tax exempt
Lots of patina
Your choice keep as is Rat look or restore
I have every intention of taking this awesome pick up to its next level and restore the body work and perfect paint. However my friends and passers by scream at me don’t do it keep it as it is the Patina is priceless.
So I decided if someone wants this unmolested pick up truck more than me to use as it is or restore as they wish it’s theirs ! Otherwise it’s going to be mint black sapphire with silver stripe
I have run through, changed fuel/ pump battery, checked all ball joints suspension wheel bearings brake linings, cylinders pipes etc all fairly new plus box of new pads as not fitted as pads on the truck are still good.
Comes with new interior factory seat covers door casings handles carpets etc plus original wheels and all body badges
The chassis sills and inner sills very good no welding required
The cock pit floor and rear bed needs some attention. If you study the pictures you will see daylight through the holes ? Mainly six areas in the cock pit that could be repaired or go all the way and put complete floor in (floor pans not expensive). The truck bed really wants new floor but riggers and crossmembers are all good. The doors including the tailgate very good the bottom corners of the doors will need some attention.
Windscreen / glass all good
Dashboard well cracked but repairable
chrome flaking on inside wheels but faces all good with new centres
Mint this model makes £25k plus
Looking at the paint layers I would say this pick up was originally light blue and white
It turns heads even as I take pictures of it today “wow how much” “leave it as it is” “Awesome”
The compression is exactly the same on all cylinders it has edelbrock inlet manafold and Holley carb
The gearbox does as it should up and down very smooth
Brakes stop it as they should so could be used as is
All the lights work wipers etc but some of the internal gauges don’t. The truck is running a bit rich and will need the carb and ignition timing adjusting by someone who knows Holly carbs.
It starts on the button drives well and will get you home as is, but would recommend that it’s trailered until properly checked for your own piece of mind
The chassis is solid
Engine brakes and gearbox very strong
Has to be the coolest pick up I have ever seen and driven and
Yes will break my heart to see it go,
Please view and test drive before bidding as this is a 1972 original truck. I have more pictures if required
The floor pans new £120 front each side £130 rear each side plus carriage. Great guys at C2C fabrications I had a load of panels for a 1976 wagoneer from them.
Truck currently being used as my daily ride to work and back
The truck can be delivered when paid for £2. 20 per mile one way fully insured by local recovery firm Remember it’s a rare 500 GT full of Patina
