Description
Hello up for sale is my stunning 1978 Pontiac Firebird.
Started life as an Esprit but has been changed to more of a Trans Am look by a previous owner.
Very rare 24 colour code Martinique Blue, made for 1 year only.
Has the more desirable T-Top roof.
It’s in lovely all round condition.
It's one of the nicest driving old American cars i've driven.
Odometer reads 27k miles.
The engine is a 5 litre V8, believe it to be the original engine as the car started life as an Esprit, excellent strong running engine with great oil pressure and no issues and is a lot of fun to drive with plenty of power, starts first time.
Exhaust has a nice rumble, sounds like a V8 should, definitely can hear it coming but not overly loud.
TH-350 Automatic 3 speed transmission, shifts perfect with no issues.
Power steering.
Power brakes, Discs front, drums rear.
Just had a specialist go through the whole brake system so it’s had…..
New brake calipers.
EBC brake pad set.
Front Brake hoses.
New Master cylinder.
New wheel cylinders.
Brake shoe fitting kit.
15” original Snowflake wheels in excellent condition.
Raised white letter tyres with excellent tread.
275/ 60/ 15 rear.
225/ 70/ 15 front.
Beautiful original blue cloth interior in good condition, headlining all good.
Included is the vinyl covers that the T-Tops go in when they are off the car, one has a split in it.
All gauges work.
Glass all good.
The bodywork is in very good condition, the paint is good overall but does have some microblistering in areas but only really noticeable up close, definitely not mint but looks great overall.
Has a current MOT although it is MOT exempt due to being a historic vehicle.
Road Tax exempt.
London ULEZ exempt.
HPI clear.
V5 present and in my name.
Vin number all correct on dash and matching all paperwork, tag all present in the engine bay and driver’s door sticker, all matching.
So to conclude it’s a 50 year old car so it’s not concourse perfect but it is a lovely car and nice condition, a good investment too as these cars are only going up in value, especially the 77 - 81 shape.
Viewings welcome near Twickenham, Middlesex, it’s stored a few miles from where I live so please only come to view if you’re serious about actually buying so we don’t waste each other’s time, thanks.
If interested please call or message for a video of the car or more pictures.
