1969 Fiat 850 Shellette by Carrozzeria Michelotti. One of 80 produced. This is a slightly more modern update to the classic Fiat Jolly. Yacht designer Phillip Schell commissioned Giovanni Michelotti to design a more stylish shoreline runabout with wicker seats and dashboard.
Built for movers and shakers / movie stars / playboys and usually seen shuttling partiers from their yachts to the beach on the Riviera. Jackie Onassis and Phillippe Starck both owned one, and there is an example on display at the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles. Not many survived all those fun times and salt air. There are only a handful of these left in the world.
This is an unrestored but solid barn find from Texas. Car is currently located in Southern California. Needs restoration. I have a quote of $2650 to restore the wicker seats and dashboard. This is a very simple car to restore as there are no doors, only one piece of glass and very little chrome. Body has minor dents and dings, and some isolated rust issues (minimal for a Fiat). The mechanics are standard Fiat 850 which are cheap and plentiful. Clean title. I can assist with export arrangements if needed.
PS: I am also selling my 1959 Fiat 600 Jolly by Ghia (Genuine car - not a replica. Shown in last photo). Look for this in a separate advert.
