Description
Selling for my 81 year old father who is too old to be tinkering with cars. 1991 944S Cabriolet in black with black leather and black hood. Price includes H7POR registration number.
• MOT to July 2025
• 17" Turbo style alloys
• Electric seat height adjustment
• Manual / Electric hood with correct handle

Less than 500 miles covered in last 5 years since my father purchased it and put it back on the road after 9 years in storage. Lots of money spent getting it back to being a usable classic including:
• timing belt and tensioners
• camshaft and plug gaskets
• new power steering pump
• fuel tank sender
• fuel pump
• water pump
• clutch slave cylinder
• speedo and instrument overhaul
• new battery
• digital clock
Receipts for all the above but no history prior to period off the road (destroyed by previous owner's ex-wife).
There are a couple of niggles, as you might expect on a 33 year old car. There's a Sony CD head unit but the radio is inoperative and the sound only seems to come out of the left hand speakers. The electric mirror adjustment isn't working and the heater blows warm all the time but the demist button is super effective. Bodywork is all solid and straight, just a few marks (see photos) and the wheels are all good with just a couple of cosmetic blemishes (see photos). Some loose stitching on front seats and the centre console lid is loose.
Drove it to the Bicester Scramble (350 mile round trip - more than it has done in the last 5 years) and it didn't miss a beat - drove really well, sat at 70 -80 all day, smooth, solid and powerful. Roof didn't leak in the torrential rain and the the wipers were effective (adjustable intermittent in 1991! who knew?). Used between 2/ 3 and 3/ 4 of a tank in 350 miles which impressed me. Bought by my father as a nearly ready to go project and it's spent the last 5 years not being driven much, just having little jobs done here and there. Engine is really good, pulls strongly from nothing and smoothly through the revs thanks to the balancer shafts. Brakes are strong it pulls up straight. The hood is relatively new and in excellent condition goes up and down easily.
The MOT history online tells pretty much the whole story - was covering decent mileages annually up until it was taken off the road. A long spell of inactivity and then a handful of miles each year since then.
