The Mercedes-Benz R107 is one of the longest-produced models of the German automaker. The models designated as R107 (SL convertible) and C107 (SLC hardtop coupe) were produced from 1971 to 1989, with a total of 300, 175 units made; of these, 62, 888 were SLC models. The vehicle was particularly successful in the U. S. market, where up to 40% of production was directed. Models from the last phase of production are distinguishable not only by better equipment (for example, they have a passenger airbag and improved brakes) but also visually – for instance, the 1986 models for the U. S. had a third brake light on the trunk lid.
The offered convertible with a soft top also comes from the USA. Among the wide range of engines (from inline six-cylinder engines to various V8 engines), it is powered by the strongest engine in the lineup, the M117 E56 V8. This engine, with a SOHC design and Bosch KE-Jetronic electronic fuel injection, was equipped with a three-way catalytic converter and lambda sensor, achieving a total output of 230 hp at 4750 rpm and 378 Nm of torque. The offered piece is overall in very beautiful condition, with no visible signs of body rust. The engine compartment is clean, as is the well-preserved interior and nicely fitting, undamaged roof. It is truly a lovely car – the engine starts without hesitation, and the four-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly. The vehicle comes with a complete service history, including official documents, contracts, and invoices. Additionally, the current owner has had the entire suspension and brake system serviced, including new calipers and so on. If you are looking for a truly beautiful R107, you have just found it.
