Description
Sadly, the time has come to list my pride and joy – unfortunately I’ve taken a job overseas long term and can no longer store this, facing the reality its much better for someone get to use it than let it sit. It comes with a fresh MoT, with no advisories, a recent service and a car cover to keep it protected. I also have Thule aero roof bars in black to go with the vehicle with the correct attachment & keys.
The Good: This has been an absolute pleasure to drive & take care of, it drives and responds fantastically and the 3. 0, 231hp 6 cylinder engine sounds fantastic!
I have a Bluetooth cassette with the vehicle so you can connect your own phone also
Oxford Green Metallic paint is the rarer BMW colours of this era & in excellent condition!
M3 6 speed manual gearbox with a new clutch (6000 miles on it)
Interior trim is generally in very good condition, the rear seats seem to almost not have been used at all & the walnut wood trim is excellent
I have never seen this leather spec in any other E46 that is not an individual and is a very rare find! Kiwi + Waffle embossing + Centre stripe
Sill plates are in pristine condition with very few, if any, scratches or marks
Another common fault on other E46’s is the upper door inner trim seal & the rear side window seals – This car has neither issue! The door seals have been re-seated, plus the rear window seals are in great condition, which is an expensive job to resolve on other cars! This is testament to how well this car has been cared for through its life
Front edge of the A-Pillar trim is also in excellent condition, a common fault with these cars is the trim material rising up or bunching
BiXenon headlights which make a drastic improvement over the standard halogens
M-Sport so comes with the exterior trim pack
Highly original, no polybushing, or engine tuning, which is getting difficult to find on these models
Some of the work I have done through my ownership:
Insurance grade replacement of the front fenders & re-spray (no collision, but to address the common front wheelarch rust)
E46 M3 manual gearbox swap (Over $1500), including new clutch
New spark plugs and coil packs
New Bilstein front shock absorbers
Replaced Vanos seal & cam cover gasket
Replaced with upgraded DISA valve
Replaced alternator
Replaced thermostat and water pump
It also has a huge mechanical history, with an almost perfect record of BMW servicing
The Bad: Now of course this is not a brand-new car, as such it’s been driven for 22 years, so has minor scuffs and marks on the front an skirts which I have tried to show I the images and videos, plus a light scratch which I’m sure would come out with a good polish on the rear fender, and no warranty is offered. In no order:
The wheels could use a refurb to bring them back up to a high standard, though there are no cracks or leaks in them
The bonnet has some cracks in the lacquer, though it hasn’t broken through to the paint beneath – to be perfect this would need a respray - I can provide the details of the team that did the fenders at a great price (& Ex-Aston Martin paint technicians)
As with all older cars that get used, the driver’s seat has some wear, though no tears or rips.
The backside of the rear seat headrests are beginning to fade in colour
To be picky, the rear tail lights, whilst functioning perfectly, are showing their age, these can be picked up for
