Description
Rare chance to buy a 350cc bevel-drive 5-speed wide-case. The engine is ready-to-run (just add oil), and was built by Terry Ives of Stotfold Engineering, Bigglewade, Beds. who was until recently a highly successful classic bike racer, and is a well-known restorer of old motorcycles. Terry has built/ raced a number of these bevel singles, including an ultra-short stroke version complete with billet crank. This far less radical example relies on standard hairpin valve springs to close the valves (i. e. NOT a 'desmo'), green & white cam and shimmed-up solid rockers (see pics). Points ignition (requires a battery to run) and there is an alternator for charging same. I purchased this with the intention of one day fitting it into my restored Mk3, but no longer required as the bike (with its original 250cc motor) is currently up for sale at Brandon Car Centre, Suffolk (see attached photos).
