Description
1980 Montesa Cota 349 in excellent condition, with original plastic tank and extra aluminium tank.
Starts first kick and runs beautifully.
Registered in early January this year on a historic age-related plate, so no MOT or tax requirements.
Original lights front and rear work well, as do horn and switches (also original).
Believed to have been restored in Spain a few years ago, the condition of this bike speaks for itself. The chrome is spotless, and the paintwork on the engine and frame is in excellent order.
I dropped very lucky at the Telford show last year and within 2 minutes of the show opening had purchased an original Montesa UK market aluminium tank with fibreglass cover, which is what I've been using as it's better at coping with modern fuel now that even super unleaded has ethanol in it...
As well as the aluminium tank + seat unit, also included is the original plastic petrol tank (with the external fuel gauge), which has recently been sealed internally and painted externally and is in pristine condition.
The seat on the original tank is also immaculate. The external fuel gauge hose, fuel tap, badges and decals are included but have not yet been fitted to the tank.
The bike also has all the original Leonelli switchgear, horn, original lights front and back -- all in fully working order. Tyres are also in good order.
I have a video on YouTube showing a cold start and ride around, but CarAndClassic removes the links. Happy to share via email, or you can search YouTube for "Montesa Cota 349 Quick Look and Ride" and it should come up.
Reluctant sale, only selling since I don't find myself doing trials-type riding and so it's a bit too specialised for me. Hoping to find a buyer who will give the bike the proper use it was intended for and deserves!
Any questions, feel free to ask by message, text or phone call. Located near Bristol. I'm unable to deliver but happy to work with couriers (e. g. via Shiply etc)
Cheers,
Alex
