This car was first bought on 5th July 2003. The car was transferred within the general control of the original purchaser to relatives and people who worked for the original owner. Towards the end of their ownership, it was transferred back into the original purchaser’s name. I have the documentation to support this. The original owner said it wasn’t getting used enough.
I also spoke to the owner who said he disposed of the car via auction. I believe it was purchased in London had an MOT put on it and transferred in the trade to a second hand-car dealer in Scotland. I purchased the car 20 Nov 2018. While it says 6 owners, it has really been only 2.
I have some service records before my ownership. I have all the receipts / MOT’s etc. during my ownership. You are welcome to these.
On smooth flowing tarmac it’s a real pleasure to drive and provide many smiles.
My dad had a 540i Auto in 1999 and I got to drive it on the odd occasion. Back then I thought it the ultimate car and promised myself I would get one. When the time came my wife stated she only wanted a manual. It is my son’s favourite car, and this has not been an easy decision, more a negotiation to sell.
I have kept the car well maintained.
Good bits
4 new tyres
Original keys x2 and a plastic one
Full-Service History Booklet
I did put in a shorter Z3 gear stick
Bad Bits
Front wing panel has been changed / resprayed at some point and there is a colour variation.
The alloys will all need to be refurbished. I have been quoted £140 per wheel for diamond cut.
Please arrange to come and view this beast. I will not respond to chancers / low ball offers / what the lowest you can do mate. Please do not make an offer without first viewing the car.
Please note that this is a 22 year old car and there is a degree of patina that is reflected in its age. If you are expecting an immaculate car please consider something else. I do feel that it is in a “good” condition based on some of the cars on the market. If you are looking for one of these you have already undertaken background reading and know all the good bits. The only car above this would be the M5 but this comes with the well known M5 tax. I believe this is one of the best examples on the market today. Come and have a look and negotiate.
