Description
A two-time Goodwood Revival invitee, this unique Cooper T52 rolling chassis was delivered from the Cooper Car Company to Elaborazione Facetti near Milan, where legendary engineer and racer Carlo Facetti installed a powerful Formula Junior specification Lancia Appia V4 engine.
Wealthy young driver Enrico Agostini raced the car at Cesenatico in April 1961, XI Circuit del Garda April 1961 (finished 8th), the Monaco FJ race in May 1961 where it reached the finals, and Monza in June 1961.
The car is now back in its original specification for the first time since the early 1960s, after a 5-year restoration which included sourcing the correct 8-port Lancia Appia 1950s engine and Cooper-ERSA gearbox. The restoration was carried out with the direct assistance and period verification of Carlo Facetti, the chassis and running gear were restored by FJ specialists MRM Racing and the engine rebuilt to full-race specifications by Setford & Company.
It has a current FIA Historical Technical Passport and, other than general testing, is fresh from restoration.
The perfect car if you’re looking for a Goodwood Revival or Monaco invitation, or a class winner in Lurani Trophy or UK FJ series. Looks great, sounds amazing! Can be seen at Setford & Company or call
