Description
For sale is my 1995 BMW E34 525i SE in Calypso Red. It features the robust inline 6-cylinder M50B25 petrol engine paired with an automatic gearbox. The interior is in excellent condition, with clean cloth upholstery free from rips, wear, or sagging in the headliner. I purchased this car back in April, having always wanted an E34 after previously owning a couple of E36 models. It’s a solid platform that just needed a bit of attention, which it has now received—making it ready for many more miles of enjoyable driving with its new owner.
The mileage is just over 109K, which is remarkably low for a car of this age and lower than most other surviving E34s on the market. It also comes with a healthy 7 months remaining on its MOT.
The work and maintenance that’s been done in the last year or so is as follows:
- Aftermarket modern head unit that has Bluetooth and phone cradle built in to use it as SatNav via an App
- Full suspension refresh, including shocks, top mounts, drop links and so on – the only thing I didn’t change were the springs as these were still in good condition.
- Full engine service, including an oil change, spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, oil filter and cabin filter. There was a small oil leak from the rocket cover gasket that was flagged on the MOT also, a new gasket kit has been fitted and it is no longer leaking.
- Coolant system refresh, including new aluminium thermostat housing, new thermostat, new coolant level sensor and fresh new coolant.
- Full brake refresh, including new pads, new discs, and new handbrake shoes - on the front and rear of the car.
- Sills and jacking points welded and sealed with rust protection, to address the common area weak corrosion areas for this model.
- Replaced the sunroof for one without rust, as the previous had bubbled through, also serviced the sunroof mechanism at the same time with grease and new clips to hold the headlining panel in place.
- Replaced drivers side window clips (have a spare bag of clips included with sale).
- Sourced a new passenger door, to swap the black external trim over that had rusted on mine.
- Sourced and fitted period correct OEM 15” multi-spoke BBS wheels, as it had incorrect 16” E39 wheels on.
- It’s had 4 new tires in the past year, only budget tires though.
- Fitted a new exhaust rubber, new centre section exhaust gasket and new lambda oxygen sensor after it failed emissions on the MOT. Along with sealing a blow in the back-box this has now passed.
- Several cosmetic jobs, including replacement sun visor’s that had cracked, replacement internal sill trims that had peeled, new bonnet and boot badges and new number plates.
Given its nearly 30-year-old age, there are some minor dings, scratches, and marks on the bodywork, as to be expected. Feel free to reach out if you’d like more details. I’ve put in the effort to preserve this classic, and I hope it finds a new home with an enthusiast who will continue to keep it on the road for years to come—it deserves a dedicated owner to carry on where I left off. This car is an absolute pleasure to drive. Its smooth engine and gearbox have stood the test of time, and the classic design is simply stunning. It’s clear how well-maintained this car is, and its low mileage makes it a truly outstanding example that always draws admiration.
