Description
Until my ownership........ This Golf has been owned by 1 family since new in 1998. It's been garaged and kept in top condition. There are two previous keepers on the log book, but they're all within our family. car drives great, and has recently had a new battery and new rear discs and pads. driven from Surrey to Bristol recently and it was great. The tyres are a little old but still passed the MOT 200 miles ago. The MOT runs until June next year. The colour is brilliant, and it shines bright everywhere it goes! There is some paperwork but importantly the service history has 16 stamps nearly all of which are from the same local garage to us. I may be able to get paper invoices from them this week. The cam belt was changed at 33, 000 miles most likely just due to age.
It is 30 years old nearly, and so does have some issues, most of which would be really easy to fix!
The coolant gauge sometimes just stops working and drops to zero, coming straight back up to the middle. This is very intermittent, and the car gets up to temperature and runs perfectly.
There is classic red lacquer peel on the front paintwork.
If left for weeks at a time and it rains heavily, a small amount of condensation builds up inside, possibly indicating a slightly weeping seal somewhere, maybe on a window.
The glovebox doesn't close, very common issue and easily fixed. Needs a new glovebox door.
Other than that it's supremely comfortable and good to drive. It's been optioned really well and has electric windows all round, lovely velour comfort seats with headrests and arm rest, full electric tilting sunroof, electric mirrors and alloy wheels.
