Description
With only 3 Previous owners, this low-mileage, green metallic, 5-speed manual Volvo 940 Turbo Wagon has been one of the best cars I've ever owned. I will be sad to see it go.
It comes with two sets of wheels, both with good tyres (Avon on one set and Michelin on the current wheels), a luggage cover, a towbar and a handy Volvo boot liner to protect the carpet when load-lugging.
I purchased the car in 2022 and have since given it a mechanical refresh, including the following works:
- New ignition leads
- New distributor cap
- New spark plugs
- Head gasket and head skim
- Cam belt
- Water pump
- New front brake calliper
- New front brake lines
- Fuel filter
- Oil filter (yearly)
- Oil (yearly)
- New brake pads (Brembo)
- New front brake discs (Brembo)
MOT passed with no advisories in October 2024.
I fitted a new Thule roof rack and Yamika wind deflector in 2022 at a cost of over £200 and will include both in the sale.
The bodywork is not perfect; there are some scratches and dents, but in true Volvo fashion, it's an incredibly solid car underneath. It drives wonderfully.
The interior is in good condition. The heated half-leather celebration seats work very well, and the radio (with code) is original, present and correct.
There is a folder of history from its' life with previous owners, two keys and original handbooks. Because of this car, I am a total Volvo Turbo Wagon convert. It has been endlessly reliable and is a total joy to drive.
With two thousand litres of luggage space, smooth, five comfortable seats and surprising performance, it's a complete do-it-all car. I have yet to meet a single Volvo owner who didn't adore their own Volvo Wagon ownership experience, which is a testament to the cult-following these cars have.
Parts are cheap and abundant. Knowledge and expertise are widespread, and this makes the car unbelievably easy to maintain on even the tightest of budgets.
