Description
True one-off KA 2007 '56 KA Luxury with a whole host of factory options. Immaculate, in the truest sense of the word. Just 15, 000 miles and 3 owners from new.
Underneath is superb, as is (predictably) the fuel filler and rear wiper. I'm convinced this car has its original paintwork all the way round. One look at it and you can tell it's been in a garage its whole life: the paintwork is so good, along with the sills, the underside, the black plastic fitments, the original reg plates (which I've retained since switching to a cherished plate), the lights and the spare wheel. Even the B-pillar trims are as new, along with the little stone chip protector strips and the chrome kick plates.
I've a terrible habit of buying lovely cars to keep, making them even nicer and then selling them at a loss. This will no doubt one such example! Barn stored since around 2015 I think, I fetched this car from a lady who used to buy and sell top notch Ford KAs, before rust got to most of them and made it unprofitable to trade. She'd done a sterling job of decommissioning and storing the car indoors. Prior to her ownership, the car came from Leicester, where it had two local owners who did nominal miles and kept it regularly serviced, including taking it to Ford for the all-important anti-corrosion inspection that most owners just neglected.
I've since paid for:
* A new fuel pump - just because I felt it was better before turning the car over
* A new, premium battery
* x4 premium Goodyear Vector4 all season tyres + a brand new spare tyre of the same brand
* Major service, including new spark plugs, HT leads and coil pack
* Full Waxoyl cavity, chassis and underbody treatment, in clear coat, so you can see just how incredible the car is
The car was missing its velour mats, so I've gone one better and sourced original mk1 Ford KA rubber mats.
I think the original owner — Mrs Hawkes — had a real eye for choices, because the Tonic Blue and cream leather work so well. Mrs Hawkes also spent a ridiculous amount of money, making this top spec model even better, with:
* Electric sunroof
* x4 airbags
* CD multi-changer
* Reverse parking sensors
* Genuine Ford RS spoiler from the additions range
* Mudflaps
This is in addition to:
* Full leather interior
* Remote central locking with remote tailgate release
* Electric windows
* Electric, heated mirrors
* Air conditioning
* ABS
Please do feel free to check the MOT history to verify the car's incredible record. I've just put a cherished plate on it (KA56 LUX) so you may need to look under its original reg: FH56 PSY.
In terms of what the car owes me, I paid my seller £4, 995 and I've spent £1, 700 since, along with the £250 for the plates, which will of course stay.
So while this is an 'expensive' Ford KA, it will still owe me money if and when it sells. Nor do I think you'll ever find another that stacks up like this one, in terms of specification, condition, miles and history. I've owned enough Mk1 Ford KAs to know that there aren't very many genuinely rust-free, un-resprayed ones around. And this is absolutely one of them!
While I think you might find one that has even lower miles, I'm not convinced you'd match the condition of this one underneath, outside or inside. And, crucially, the specification, colour choice and additional options make it as close to unique as I think you'll get.
One for an enthusiast or someone who fancies something a little different to drive around in.
