Description
Lincoln town car 4. 6 Litre V8, 3 speed automatic 4 door saloon
this vehicle has been modified into a lowrider.
mot 14/ 05/ 25
Previous owner changed the electronic cluster so mileage showing is incorrect - shows roughly 290k engine/ vehicle is on roughly 120-130k from old mot history.
Hydraulic info:
running full hydraulic suspension allows this vehicle to hop, 3 wheel static / rolling - run down of the suspension setup.
3 hydraulic pumps / 3 dumps powered by 6 truck batteries all fixed to a custom frame inside the boot, rear has a chain bridge fitted and pillowball top mounts, chassis has been reinforced to withstand hopping and flex.
currently setup 72V to front and 24V to rears would be more usable dropping the front voltage down.
6x hankook truck batteries just over year old
3x pro-hopper hydraulic pumps (just replaced motor in front pump with a new unit less then a month ago)
heavy duty chain bridge to allow three wheels
reinforced upper and lower suspension arms
4 ton front suspension springs
3. 5 ton rear suspension springs
all front structural and subframe fully reinforced
8" front rams and 12" rears
Braced rear frame
adjustable upper diff arms
Braced lower arms
work carried out in 2022 to the hydraulics:
Tailgate area and battery rack all fabricated / installed and painted with a black bed liner still like new
wiring redone and hidden within the rack
rebuilt and resealed front rams
new cables and terminals on all batteries
13" wire wheels finished in gold, these had new tyres and covered only a couple hundred miles since
rear rams replaced
new deep front cups
new hydraulic hoses
new upper front upper ball joints
arches undersealed and rear end cleaned up / painted
all three pumps rebuilt new seals 2 motors replaced (third has been done now also)
wing mirrors replaced with chrome ones
two solenoids replaced on front pump side in last month
Vehicle info:
originally white, then i think one of the previous owners had a custom paintjob / patterns on the bonnet / boot lid and side of the car, currently the car has been wrapped in a blue with gold glitter wrap and gold pinstriping - evidence of the pattern paintjob can be seen on the bonnet but not sure of condition of the paint underneath for the car to have been wrapped?
custom side pipe exhausts exit by the front doors under the car cant be seen can be loud at high revs
previous owner gold plated/ coated chrome parts to match the pinstriping / wheels believe this will polish off back to chrome was one thing i was contemplating doing.
engine runs smooth
gearbox shifts as expected and has overdrive for motorway use
work carried out when i got the vehicle in June:
Engine oil and filter changed
Air filter changed
Spark plugs changed
HT leads changed
Both coil packs changed
Rear license lights added and wiring repaired
Both Headlights changed for new units
Brake fluid changed
EGR valve taken off and cleaned out
New Mass air flow sensor
New PCV valve
New Thermostat
New Thermostat housing
Coolant
New wipers
Vehicle had been sat for 3 or so years prior to my ownership so took a little recommission work.
Areas that could be improved:
Handbrake cables need replacing (purchased the parts required just haven't been fitted will include with sale)
Bush on rear n/ s lower arm needs replacing
could do with two small patches welding on rear of the sills before mot or next.
interior has seen better days, mostly complete couple of switches missing steamed the seats but could do with a proper leather treatment they may improve, some rips in the headlining.
boot pulldown motor doesn't work but boot still shuts normally.
stereo wiring needs installing have the loom and stereo for the car.
drivers seat switch doesn't work
Does have 3 small dents along the drivers side tried to have them removed but the guy failed - should be able to pdr them with someone better.
has a few spots where the wrap has come away mainly around bottom of drivers door, and small section on bonnet lip and some scratches to the bumpers. Bought this car early in the year before summer show season for a bit of fun whilst my other classic was in for repair, only planned to use it for the summer and sell again as my other car is almost done now. Always wanted a lowrider and to experience it and this car has allowed me to do just that, I've ended up putting more money into it than I'd planned but always the way. this car is definitely not for anyone shy everywhere it goes you have peoples attention either shouting or videoing it, is deceptively long check dimensions first if your planning on putting it in a specific space. hopping is an experience takes a bit of time to get used to and 3 wheel is novelty if you've not experienced a vehicle on hydraulics before, they are known to not drive as well as they did due to the factors changed for the car to be able to perform as it does. small wheels and tyres, high level spring rates and the weight of the batteries etc all contribute and it is quite a rough ride - you get used to it.
