Description
Maserati Merak SS
Manufactured in late 1974 but not registered until September 1975, when Citroen were in the process of acquiring Maserati, This car could possibly, if not, be the first SS.
Finished in its original colour of Verdy Indy Green Metallic with a stunning tan leather interior.
Subjected to a £130k, bare metal restoration in 2018 the car wants for nothing and has been maintained ever since to the highest standards.
Accompanied with a substantial history file , Maserati Classiche Classification and a spare set of keys.
Show winner in 2022, the car has interesting provenance having been the property of Andy Leek of Dexys Midnight Runners , and was featured on the front cover of his Album Move on ( in my Maserati).
During the restoration the engine was replaced by an expert race engine builder, with every internal component being replaced. The car performs impeccably on its correct Michelin XWS radials.
Penned by Georgeto Giugiaro at Italdesign the Merak is arguably one of the stand out designs of the 70’s.
