Description
Celebrating its 50th anniversary next year, this matching-numbers 930-generation Porsche 911 Turbo 3. 0 is an exceptionally rare and highly desirable classic performance icon from 1975, the first model year of production.
It is offered from long-term ownership and benefits from an extensive previous restoration history. The car is in original factory specification as verified by Porsche GB, with the Certificate of Authenticity included as part of the documentation
This original UK-market example was imported by Porsche Cars GB, sold via official dealer at the time Hexagon Cars of Highgate, and was first registered in November of 1975. It has been with the seller for 28 years, who is a lifelong Porsche enthusiast and collector. We will soon be offering this 911 Turbo’s ‘sister car’ from his collection, a 1976 Carrera 3. 0.
This 930-era 911 Turbo is one of only 274 1975 model-year cars ever built by Porsche and is one of just 22 right-hand drive examples delivered to the UK in that year. Moreover, the seller believes it is one of only very few remaining 1975 cars worldwide to feature full chrome trim from new as a special order, code 446.
This example has previously featured in the Porsche & 911 World magazine, along with its 911 Carrera 3. 0 ‘sister car’, soon to be offered.
The odometer shows 76, 870 miles; and the seller’s view is that given its extensive restoration history, the recorded mileage is academic.
Shipping to any major port in the world is included in the sale price (subject to any import restrictions).
At the time of its release in 1975, the 930 3. 0 Turbo was arguably the fastest production car in the world. It was Porsche’s first turbocharged production car.
This example is finished in an eye-catching shade of blue metallic over a MacLaughlin Red/ Black Tartan cloth and black leather interior.
It is pictured on a set of 16-inch Fuchs alloy wheels finished in black with anodised lips. However, the buyer can choose to have the original 15-inch Fuchs refitted instead.
Optional factory fitted equipment included: full chrome trim (code 446), dual sports seats (code 409). 7J/ 8J x 15" Fuchs / P7 tyres (code 395), RHD single driver’s door mirror finished in chrome (code 423), and the electric sunroof (code 650).
The car comes with a tool roll, a space-saver spare wheel, the original owner’s handbook, bespoke soft indoor cover and a large history file including invoices for the previous restoration work.
Also supplied with the car is what is considered by many to be the ultimate ‘bible’ on the 1975 to 1977 Turbo 3. 0, signed by the author Ryan Snodgrass, and uniquely numbered at 2091 of only 2500 produced. This 930 Turbo, VIN no. the details below, is listed in the book, it details the history and production of the 930 3. 0-litre Turbo. This weighty tome enhances to the uniqueness of this piece of motoring history.
